Reminiscing

Story Credit: Michael Kent Lee

I'm sitting here remembering fondly reading all these posts...

Pulling out of chocks and saluting the crew chief as we're about to go slip the surlies again.

Feeling the shove back in your seat when the burners lit (never was it as noticeable as on my student dollar ride).

Extended trail as wingman.

The G-suit doing its thing as you start pulling 5 Gs at 500 knots for a loop or Immelmann.

Sitting as a 4-ship in the hammerhead for takeoff and hearing "toop, threep, forp" in rapid succession when lead directed radio changes.

Extended trail as wingman. 😁

Doing a cross under right after takeoff.

Stacking level for wing landings.

Pulling up for a closed at departure end... or sooner.

Flying up initial in 4-ship echelon.

And the number one thing... extended trail... while dodging wingtip vortices and feeling the rush as lead bottoms out and starts to go over the top.

Man, do I miss that.
