Kid 3: Saved With A C-130

Author: Tom Perry

Last one. Kid was a guard fighter guy who couldn't fly in formation. He passed his check but was not FAR-qualified. I asked permission to talk to a few guard units to try to find him another unit in a jet better suited. After a few calls, I got him a job with a 130-unit in the same vicinity where he lived. He graduated and went on with his career.

I absolutely hated to see a kid eliminated. I told my guys their job was to make pilots. They were all great instructors who worked diligently to help their students succeed. I was never more proud of a group of guys than I was of my Lizzards.
