The Sunsets in Oklahoma

On another occasion, the Burker once again found himself and the same Ops Specialist standing just outside of the squadron, watching the sunset.  Because of the dust, we used to have some magnificent sunsets there in Oklahoma. After a while, she looked over at the Burker and remarked, “You know, Capt. B, the sunsets out here in Oklahoma are so much prettier than they are back in Georgia.” She thought for a moment, then continued, “I suppose that’s because we are so much nearer where the sun actually sets.”

The Burker thought for a moment, then replied, “Yeah, you ought to see them in Hawaii!”

She thought a bit more, then said, “I never thought about that.” And with that, the Burker headed back inside, figuring he had heard enough for one evening.
